Data collection in speech and voice research
This course in Phonetics provides an overview of current methods of collecting data for speech- and voice research.
The course provides an overview of current methods of collecting data for speech- and voice research (including experimental phonetics) and gives practical and theoretical knowledge of
- recording technology for acoustic signals, specifically for purposes of speech- and voice research
- recording techniques for physiological signals
- selected methods for studying speech production.
Having completed the course, students will be able to plan and carry out the collection of acoustic signal data, plan and carry out the collection of data relating to speech production, and to use relevant terminology and relevant tools to visualise, process and analyse acoustic and physiological signals.
