This is a Master's level course in Linguistics. The course provides a basis for linguistic analysis above sentence level by offering a broad orientation in discourse and interaction analysis.
Language in Use provides a theoretical and methodological basis for linguistic analysis above sentence level by offering a broad orientation in current theories and methods in discourse and interaction analysis. It also aims to provide experience in applying these methods to linguistic data and to analyse and discuss linguistic data by drawing on current discourse theoretical approaches.
The course is based on lectures and seminars.
The course is examined through written assignments and an oral presentation.
ScheduleThe schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course. We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course, your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.
Note that the course literature can be changed up to two months before the start of the course.
