Language Contact, Multilingualism and Minorities in the Romance-Speaking World

  • 7.5 credits

The course deals with language contact, multilingualism and minorities in environments where varieties of French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish are spoken. The focus will primarily be on the theoretical and methodological inputs to studies on multilingual contexts in Europe and beyond. The course also introduces questions about the complex and diversified multilingual contexts that characterize the Romanesque world from a social, historical and geographical perspective.
