Sample Surveys

The course will deepen your knowledge about sample surveys and their planning. It teaches different ways to execute and analyse statistical sample surveys. It teaches how these methods can be applied in more complicated sample situations with assistive information.

The following concepts are studied in more detail: Planning of sample and census surveys, simple random sampling non-response and other error sources, and other concepts.

The course content provides knowledge that is extremely useful for the application of statistical methods in different study and survey situations.

  • Course structure

    The course is given at day time, full time.

    Teaching format

    The teaching can consist of lectures, exercises, seminars, laboratory work and supervision. Some attendanceis are mandatory and other mandatory components can be included.

    Assessment

    Assessments take the form ofa written examination and written and/or oral presentation of a written assignment.

    The schedule will be available no later than one month before the start of the course. We do not recommend print-outs as changes can occur. At the start of the course, your department will advise where you can find your schedule during the course.
