About the course

The importance of gender permeates the entire society, from the individual to the structural level, and is therefore also associated with various power structures. Social work is concerned with the interaction of individuals with each other, with organizations and with the society at large, which makes understanding of the role of gender vital. This course focuses on theorizing and discussion of gender in different social arenas, and the implications for social work.
