These activities are an important part of Stockholm University's social life and help make publicity for the University. However, these activities are restricted because of regulations regarding safety, the working environment, and other general rules such as food regulations.

The rules and guidelines regarding these activities were drawn up by the University Director and came into effect on 16 June 1995. They are intended to make it easier to organise activities of different types on the University's premises.

Permission for outdoor events, signs and sales is given by the property owner Akademiska Hus AB - Frescati.
