Lotten Gustafsson Reinius, the current Hallwyl visiting professor, is sharing her time between Stockholm University and Nordiska museet. She has made great efforts to produce this exhibition herself, but has also coordinated researchers from across the Nordic countries as well as across disciplinary lines. Congratulations are in order to Nordiska museet, but also, and foremost, to the public that is now able to take part in an up-to-date, educational and exciting exhibition!

I am actually in the Arctic right now, at the Faroe Islands for a board meeting with NUS, the Nordic University Association, that Sweden is currently chairing. We follow the development in our Nordic neighbouring countries closely in regards to both overarching research policy as well as topical issues from the different universities. We have, among other things, discussed efforts against sexual harassment where we aim to deepen our Nordic cooperation. A main topic at the meeting is a framework to ensure research quality derived from the Swedish efforts in that field. Anders Söderholm, Director General of the Swedish Higher Education Authority is presenting the upcoming review of the universities’ own efforts in regards to quality assurance. At the end of the year, Finland will take over the chairmanship of NUS and the main topic for the following two years will be sustainable development.
