RT4 Research Day Away – save the date!
[Information finns bara på engelska] The theme for the meeting is “Adaptation across scales.” Climate change is here and now – how do organisms, ecosystems, landscapes, and the built environment adapt to changing conditions? But what do we really mean by “adaptation”?
In the first part of the day, we will learn about how researchers are studying adaptation at different levels of ecological organization and across natural, managed, and built environments. We will have two external speakers on this topic. There will also be speed talk sessions for shorter presentations from RT4 members allowing many people to present their current work. Note that the topic of your talk does not have to be within the theme. We welcome all topics. At the end of the talk sessions, we expect a lively discussion about using the concept of adaptation in contrasting scientific contexts, along with emerging themes from RT4 research.
In the second part of the day, we will discuss the new RT4 initiative – funding of 2 larger seed projects of 200K SEK each. The goal of this funding is to generate collaborative work across RT4 that requires more funding than what our normal seed grants provide. During the afternoon, we have structured time that facilitates you learning about what ideas others are interested in pursuing and how that might fit with your ideas.
Throughout, we have time for socializing and enjoying the company of other RT4 members. We are excited to put together this program (see below) and look forward to seeing as many of you as that can attend.
