Abstract

The ethics of future generations is riddled by paradoxes. Ethical theorists have searched for an ethical theory of beneficience that avoids these paradoxes, what Derek Parfit has called “theory X”. Combining different ideas from the literature, this text begins to suggests a new theory to solve these paradoxes.
