Abstract

Abstract: The 14th century saw remarkable philosophical developments. One such was the nature of artifacts.

In this presentation, I will draw attention to Blasius of Parma’s treatment of artifacts in his commentary on Aristotle’s Physics. I will  also put his contribution in context and then mention Ockham, Buridan as well as Descartes and Bacon.
