Kurserna på forskarnivå vid Institutionen för ämnesdidaktik riktar sig i första hand till våra egna forskarstudenter, men i mån av plats välkomnar vi alla behöriga och intresserade.

Kurserna hålls på svenska eller engelska.

Linguistic Ethnography, 7.5 ECTS

This course introduces, discusses, and problematises Linguistic Ethnography and its contributions to research on language—particularly multilingualism—and identity in educational and other social contexts. It also explores key theoretical and methodological principles, as well as foundations for ethnographic research in relation to current studies. In addition, the course focuses on the analysis and presentation of interactional data.

The course is offered by the Department of Teaching and Learning, the Centre for Research on Bilingualism and the Department of Child and Youth Studies, as a part of the Doctoral School in the Humanities.

Educational dimensions of multilingualism, US018DO, 7.5 ECTS

The course introduces multilingualism and its importance for learning and teaching in different educational contexts and age groups. It covers theories and methods in multilingualism research, including second and third language learning, mother tongues, heritage and minority languages. The course also discusses language policy in Europe and key concepts such as bilingualism, multilingualism and translanguaging in relation to current research and education.

Kvantitativa metoder, UM046FN, 7,5 hp

Kursen handlar om olika statistiska metoder samt hur man skapar enkäter och prov. Du får också lära dig att granska forskning och svenska och internationella undersökningar som använder kvantitativa metoder. Kursen tar även upp hur registerdata kan användas i utbildningsforskning. Dessutom får du en introduktion till både klassisk och modern mätteori.

Didaktisk modellering, UM045FN, 7,5 hp

Kursen handlar om hur didaktiska modeller kan utvecklas och användas för att stödja undervisning och lärande. Den tar också upp likheter och skillnader mellan didaktisk modellering och andra arbetssätt, såsom educational design research, aktionsforskning samt lesson och learning study. Dessutom ger kursen kunskap om vad didaktiska modeller är, vilket syfte de kan ha och hur de kan användas för att analysera och planera undervisning.

Issues in Language Teaching and Learning, US022DO, 7.5 ECTS credits

The course addresses current issues and different research findings on how languages are learned, and what they mean for teaching. You will engage with and discuss recent research on learning and teaching first, second, and foreign languages. The course also explores how different perspectives relate to teaching practices in various contexts. In addition, you will analyze and compare policy documents for language teaching based on current research.

Third language research and language education, US024DO, 7.5 ECTS credits

The course addresses third language acquisition research and its implications for teaching a third language. Research on languages learned after the first language or languages and one or more second languages, central theories, and a selection of empirical studies within the field are discussed, evaluated, and compared. The research examined concerns various factors considered relevant to the learning, use, and development of a third language, such as age, multilingualism, and contextual factors.
