Torsten Persson awarded the Ann-Kersti and Carl-Hakon Swenson Prize

The Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities (Kungliga Vitterhetsakademien) has awarded the prestigious Ann-Kersti and Carl-Hakon Swenson Prize in Humanities and Social Science to IIES Professor Torsten Persson "for his internationally recognized, ground-breaking contributions to the understanding of the interplay between politics and economics, especially the relations between constitutional conditions and economic policy".

In 1988, Vitterhetsakademien Honorary Member Carl-Hakon Swenson and his wife Ann-Kersti Swenson donated a significant sum, the income to be distributed annually as the Ann-Kersti and Carl-Hakon Swenson Prize in Humanities and Social Sciences. It has been awarded biannually since 1992. The prize sum is SEK 700,000.
