This presentation, by Jessica Gustafsson, Södertörn Högskola, explores the potential role that post-migrant media (Ratkovic 2019) can play in diverse societies by examining the media practices of Fanzingo, a media house situated in the ethnically diverse suburb of Alby. The theoretical concepts of voice (Couldry 2010) and listening (Bassel 2017; Dreher 2010) will be employed to understand the process by which they initiate and cultivate young voices and collaborate with mainstream media to amplify the voices heard and promote diversity in the Swedish media industry.
