Prof Brunner-Weinzierl is the Head of Research at the Department of Experimental Pediatrics & Neonatology, Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg since 2007. She graduated from Freie Universität Berlin in 1995, and spent two years at the University of Berkeley, CA in Prof Jim Allison’s group as a post-doc 1995-1997. Her research focuses on immune check-point therapies for tumor rejection and molecular mechanisms behind T cell differentiation, but also covers infant infection control as well as the pathogenesis of allergic disease.
