The Department of Molecular Biosciences, The Wenner-Gren Institute (MBW) unites more than 30 independent research groups. Our mission is to carry out internationally recognized research and teaching in infection- and immunobiology, integrative biology and molecular cell biology. All our researchers are united by the common goal of seeking answers to fundamental biological problems at the molecular level. In short, MBW scientists study the function of genes and cells in tissues and organisms seeking core scientific truths and thereby contribute to solving the mysteries of life.

MBW is located in the Arrhenius Laboratories on the northeastern end of Stockholm University's Frescati Campus. The department contributes to a dynamic research and educational environment that is characterized by intense interactions and intellectual exchange between neighbouring basic research departments in biological and chemical sciences.
