The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, together with the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation and the Erling-Persson Family Foundation, invite applications for their grants to organise Nobel symposia.

These enable Swedish academic institutions to organise international symposia in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, or economic sciences in order to network with international researchers. Symposia may involve up to 50 participants and last between three to five days. A majority of the active participants should come from academic institutions in non-Nordic countries.

Academic institutions, in the form of government authorities or other legal entities such as foundations, as well as limited liability companies and non-profit or co-operative associations, may apply. Universities, research institutes and science-oriented government or private foundations preferably based in Sweden or Norway may participate as external funders.

Four grants, one for each field, are available. Grants cover administrative costs, equipment and venue costs, as well as accommodation and meals for participants and observers and travel costs for participants.

Applications should be made on the application form (found here together with full instructions), and submitted by email to nobelsymposia@kva.se no later than 30 September, 2019.
