NILAS Library
The Latin America Institute Library is a special library for social science research and Latin American studies.

Study Space
We are open to the public, and literature can be borrowed, except for reference works, journals and some textbooks. We have twelve study spaces and two public computers, one of which is used exclusively for searches of the library catalogue.

Borrowing
The university card works as a library card at all libraries at Stockholm University. Library of the Institute of Latin American Studies is part of the university. For more information about borrowing from the library, please find our loan terms and rules here.
The Collection
The library’s collection includes more than 50,000 titles in history, politics, economy, anthropology and other social sciences. The loan period for books is typically 28 days.

We also have a collection of Latin American literature in original language, and literature on art history, literature and music. European theses, including Swedish and Latin American theses, can be found in the database REDIAL-Tesis. Newer theses can be found in their complete format in DiVA.
