How does it work to conduct research in the Baltic Sea? What biological, geological, and chemical processes play important roles in our marine environment? How do we study the coastal ecosystem v.s. the open sea?

The goal with the course is to to learn more about the environmental conditions and Baltic Sea processes by doing field work and sampling both at the Askö Laboratory and on the well-equipped German research vessel Elisabeth Mann Borgese. The 20 Swedish and German participants will, with help from the researchers who lead the course, use advance resources for research and compare differences between the study areas. The course is also a valuable opportunity to network with marine students, experts and technical staff from the two countries.
