In my talk, I will provide an overview of past and present aspects of my work and outline possible future lines of research. In particular, I will present the transition semantics for branching time, which I have been proposing as a formal framework for reasoning about real possibilities and the open future. The distinctive feature of the transition semantics is that it builds on local future possibilities, viz. transitions, rather than on complete possible courses of events and allows for a dynamic picture of the interrelation of possibility and time, bringing to the fore the idea that contingencies about the future dissolve as time progresses. My research plans consist in extending the framework toward an integrative account of agency and change, and I will explain why I consider the transition approach particularly suited to this end.
