Abstract

What’s the difference between education and indoctrination? Between being stuck in an echo chamber and being rationally selective about what sources you trust? Between paranoia and skepticism? Distinguishing, in a principled way, between these cases is quite tricky. But I want to try to do so. I’ll tentatively suggest that what matters, for whether we’re in the good case or the bad case, is how open-minded we are.
