Kursen, som vid behov ges på engelska, ger en introduktion till konsten att göra formell semantik, också kallad modellteoretisk semantik, för naturliga språk, dvs. hur man med utgångspunkt från en syntaktisk analys av satsers struktur på ett systematiskt (kompositionellt) sätt kan komma fram till deras sanningsvillkor.
The course, which can be given in English, gives an introduction to the art of doing formal semantics, also called model-theoretic semantics, for natural languages. That is, how one can use a syntactic analysis of the structure of sentences to derive their truth conditions in a systematic (compositional) way.
