Om mig
Erik Solfeldt är doktorand vid Institutionen för arkeologi och antikens kultur vid Stockholms universitet. Genom att kombinera arkeologi och museietnografi specialiserar han sig på studiet av animism och materiell kultur bland jägare-samlare och pastoralister i nordvästra Eurasien. Hans forskning utforskar etnografiskt material (etnografiska artefakter och visuell etnografi) från nordvästra Sibirien, med särskilt fokus på neneterna. Genom att tillämpa teoretiska perspektiv från nyanimism, i kombination med kritiska och dekonstruerande etnografiska analogier, utmanar hans arbete traditionella arkeologiska teorier och tolkningar som bygger på västerländska ontologiska förutfattade meningar. Hans nuvarande doktorandprojekt, "Material Spirits of the Past and Present," fördjupar sig i dessa teman och bygger vidare på hans masteruppsats med titeln "En arkeologi av det animistiska," som mottog priset "Highly Commended, Master’s Thesis Prize" från International Society of Hunter-Gatherer Research (ISHGR) år 2024.
