Jenny Wilder Prefekt, professor

Jenny Wilder is the Head of the Department of Special Education, Stockholm University. Jenny Wilder is a Professor in Special Education. She is a Research Associate in the Centre for Augmentative and Alternative Communication, University of Pretoria https://www.up.ac.za, she is also a Research Associate at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health, Uppsala University.

Jenny Wilder has run several larger research projects, from 2026 – 2030 she leads the Research School in Special Education, funded by the Swedish Research Council.

Jenny Wilder’s research focuses on inclusive practices to promote participation, interaction and learning of children and youths in need of special support. Over the years her research has encompasses areas such as communication and interaction, participation, support provision, collaboration, and educational transitions, for persons with intellectual disabilities and other disabilities. She has supervised several Ph.D. students and is currently the main supervisor of Ph.D. student Johanna Thedvall.

Jenny Wilder has a Ph.D. in Psychology, Stockholm University, 2008, she became Associate professor in Special Education 2015, and Professor in Special Education 2020.
