Om mig

I am a postdoctoral research fellow at Stockholm University and the Oskar Klein Center for Cosmoparticle Physics, member of the ATLAS collaboration, and I currently split my time between Stockholm University and CERN. Originally from the UK, I obtained my MA and MSci degrees in Experimental and Theoretical Physics from the University of Cambridge, UK, and my doctorate in Particle Physics from the University of Oxford, UK. I am passionate about teaching physics at all levels, and for the academic year 2019-2020 I will be lecturing the Master-level course "Particle Physics II", together with Prof. David Milstead. 

Previously I have been an undergraduate tutor, teaching assistant, and course lecturer at the University of Oxford, UK. During 2015-2016, I was a teaching assistant for the fourth-year course in "Advanced Particle Physics"; from 2017 -- 2019 I was a tutor for the "Symmetries and Relatativity"  and "Subatomic Physics" third-year undergraduate courses. Finally, I was a lecturer for the second-year "Quantum Mechanics" course for exchange students from Pacific Lutheran University studying at Oxford. I have also served on the undergraduate admissions panel for the Oxford physics programme intake for the academic years 2018-2019 and 2019-2020.  


I have worked on a variety of projects on ATLAS (past and present!) including: jet reconstruction and performance in Run 2 and for the HL-LHC; searches for New Physics in final states with many hadronic jets; searches for Higgsinos decaying into b-jet final states; applications of Machine Learning to jet calibration; ATLAS inner detector operations for the Pixel system, semiconductor tracker (SCT), and transition radiation tracker (TRT); the phase-II Tile Calorimeter upgrade for the HL-LHC; and searches for di-Higgs production at ATLAS using machine learning and advanced data analysis technoques. These days, I am mostly focused on developing the firmware and FPGA technology for the phase-II ATLAS Tile Calorimeter HL-LHC upgrade, and searching for the production of di-Higgs states at the LHC using the latest developments in machine learning, with particular interest in probing the global shape of the Higgs potential, the Higgs self-coupling, beyond-Standard Model (BSM) production of di-Higgs events, and effective field theory approaches to Higgs physics. I am a member of the SHIFT project, and a founding member of the Swedish di-Higgs working group.  In my spare time I dabble in phenomenology, with interest in the future direction of searches for long-lived particles (LLPs) and BSM Higgs models, and am a general machine learning enthusiast and hobbyist! Before joining ATLAS, I was a member of the NA62 collaboration working on magnetic field measurements and searches for rare kaon decays, at CERN and as a researcher at the University of Liverpool, UK.
