Doktorand i musikvetenskap. Master i humaniora med inriktning musikvetenskap från Uppsala Universitet med uppsatsen "Feel it in Your Body: Hybridization of Musical Habitus in Swedish Cultural-Educational Tourism to Ghana". Bachelor of Music with Distinction med inriktning världsmusik/musiketnologi från University of Alberta i Edmonton, Kanada. Huvudinstrument: eufonium.
Har tidigare arbetat på olika projekt på folkwaysAlive! (nu en del av Sound Studies Institute) vid University of Alberta inklusive Virtual Museum of Canadian Traditional Music samt Look of the Listen: The Cover Art of Folkways Records.
Arbetar även som översättare och redaktör för översättningar på Kungliga Musikaliska Akademiens projekt Levande Musikarv.
Forskning
I'm interested in rhythm and in particular how we find the beat in music. My dissertation research examines the metric characteristics of Billboard's year-end top 100 lists over the last decade and previously to show how meter is expressed and what aspects of metric consonance & dissonance may contribute to our perception of beat. I am also interested in the physical processes which play a roll in this perception and how we, in movement, express an understanding of the beat, or even add to the rhythmic dimension of music with movement.
