Om mig

My research focuses broadly on understanding ecological and evolutionary effects of stress on individuals, populations and communities. I am especially interested in how stress modifies trophic interactions and the role of organismal traits and trait diversity in stress responses. I use aquatic (marine & fresh water) macrophytes (macroalgae and seagrasses) and invertebrates as my model organisms to study these questions.

During my PhD (2010-2014) at Åbo Akademi University, Finland and Roskilde University, Denmark (double doctoral degree) I studied stress effects in marine macrophytes ranging from gene expression to community level responses. Here is a link to my thesis From genes to communities: stress tolerance in eelgrass (Zostera marina)

After my PhD, I worked as a lecturer at Roskilde University, Denmark (2014-2015) and taught statistics at BSc and MSc –levels and botany at BSc-level.

During my first post doc (2015-2017) at ETH Zürich and Eawag, Switzerland I studied ecological and evolutionary responses to multiple stressors by using an aquatic snail, Lymnaea stagnalis, as a model organism.
