On 1 January 2018, the Department of Public Health Sciences was founded at Stockholm University. Two research centres, CHESS and SoRAD, are housed within the Department. The new Department performs research and education within the field of public health sciences.

Ylva B Almquist receives SEK 4.2 million from the Swedish Research Council

Ylva B Almquist, Associate professor at the Department of Public Health Sciences, has received SEK 4 2000 000 from the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) for the project "Grandchildren of misfortune: The role of resilience for multigenerational patterns of inequality".
