Forte finances research on substance use and mental health problems among young people

Jukka Törrönen, Professor at the Department of Public Health Sciences, has been awarded a research grant by Forte, financing the three-year research project "Youth, health and risk-taking: exploring how declining substance use and increasing mental health problems among young people are related to their everyday life concerns and practices".

Tove Sohlberg receives SEK 4.34 million from The Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare (Forte) for the project "Recovered, in treatment, or dead? A 20-year follow-up of women and men in Swedish substance use treatment".

Drivers of inequalities among families involved with child welfare services

Ylva B Almquist, Associate professor (Docent) at the Department of Public Health Sciences, has received SEK 4 7000 000 from The Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare (Forte) for the project "Drivers of inequalities among families involved with child welfare services". The three-year research project is a collaboration between the Department of Public Health Sciences and the Department of Social Work at Stockholm University, together with Stanford University, USA, and University of Liverpool, Great Britain.

Department of Public Health Sciences

On 1 January 2018, the Department of Public Health Sciences was founded at Stockholm University. Two research centres, CHESS and SoRAD, are housed within the Department. The new Department performs research and education within the field of public health sciences.
