More premature babies born following Swedish parental leave policy

The introduction of a policy protecting parental leave benefits in Sweden in 1980 had unintended consequences on child health. The policy led to an increase in premature birth rates. This is shown by a study from researchers at Stockholm University, published in JAMA Pediatrics.

Bullying in the workplace increases the risk of sick leave

People who are subjected to bullying in the workplace run about a 30 percent increased risk of being on sick leave for mental illness. This is shown by a study from the Department of Public Health Sciences and the Stress Research Institute, both at Stockholm University, and Karolinska Institutet.

Out of more than 100 international master's programmes offered at Stockholm University, the Master´s Programme in Public Health is the second most popular. This is according to the results of the first round of applications to Master´s Programmes at the university for the autumn semester of 2024.
