In this context, France, Canada and Sweden are the geographical areas from which the North will be explored. Which literary discourses on the North can be perceived in these countries ? What images of the North are conveyed by cultural and literary authorities ? In Sweden, what are the interactions in particular with French-speaking literature ? Which relations and issues can be described between the representations of the North created inside and outside the Nordic regions ? The research contributions will show how representations of the North are dealt with, conceived, transformed, assimilated, enhanced or even deconstructed in French-speaking literatures.
