You can try the digitized archive of documentation of British daily life from 1937 to 1950 until December 19.
The archive is the result of work in the social science research organization Mass Observation. This was founded in 1937 by, among others, the anthropologist Tom Harrisson, filmmaker Humphrey Jennings and poet Charles Madge and aimed to create an "anthropology of ourselves". They recruited a group of observers and a panel of volunteer writers to study the everyday lives of ordinary people in Britain. This original work continued until the early 1950s.
Selected parts of the Mass Observation Archive are now available online through the resource Mass Observation Online from Adam Matthew Digital. Available online are: file reports, early publications, selected topic collections, photos and diaries and directive responses from 1939 to 1950.
The resource also contains interactive maps, bibliographic resources and essays on various aspects of Mass Observation 1937-1950.
