Dan-Olof Rooth has been appointed professor of Economics, especially Labor Economics, at SOFI. He will will start on January 1st, 2016.
Rooth received his Ph.D. in Economics at Lund University in 1999. He is since 2009 a professor at Linnaeus University, based in Kalmar. Rooth has a very extensive scientific production within Labour Economics in a broad sense. He has several well-cited publications on topics such as labor market discrimination with a special focus on gender discrimination and ethnic discrimination in the hiring decision. One of his last contributions was published in 2014 in the American Economic Review, and studies how employers react to job seekers unemployment history. Dan-Olof's research also addresses the impact of health on labor market outcomes. In recent years he has also studied the research questions in political economy.
