InGRID-2 is an advanced infrastructure project financed under EU Horizon 2020-INFRAIA-2016-2017. The project will run for 48 months, from 2017 to 2020. SOFI and Stockholm University is via the Social Policy Indicators Database (SPIN) one of the major partners and is granted about 675 000 €. Professor Kenneth Nelson at SOFI is one of the research directors of InGRID-2, which is coordinated by the Research Institute for Work and Society (HIVA) at the Catholic University of Leuven. In total, InGRID-2 includes 19 European partners. The overarching purpose of InGRID-2 is to advance integration and innovation of distributed social sciences research infrastructures on poverty, living conditions and social policies, as well as working conditions, vulnerability, and labor policies. InGRID-2 will extend transnational on-site and virtual access, organize mutual learning and promote innovations, as well as improve data services and facilities of comparative research. The focus areas are integrated and harmonized data, links between policy and practice, and indicator-building tools.

The project InGRID-2 has by the European Commission been assigned a grant of 9.5 M€.
