Språkstudion has four different rooms available for booking. On this page you can read more about equipment and pedagogical possibilities.

The computer rooms Studio 1 (E299) and Studio 2 (E289) have 20 student seats each with iMacs, and one computer seat for the teacher. There are computer projectors, speakers, headsets, and whiteboards.

As a teacher, you have access to a rich selection of audio material and language lab functions for listening comprehension, pronunciation exercises, writing, interpretation, recording of group conversations, monologues or recitations.

You can give feedback to individual students or student groups both regarding text and speech through our teaching equipment. You can also show and comment on movies on each student's computer or via a projector, and you have access to open web resources such as databases of poetry, literature and second language acquisition. You can use your own material, either by placing it on our servers temporarily or permanently, or by bringing your own external memory disks. Auxiliary tools for dictation and recitation are available for students and teachers in more than 20 languages on all computers.

If you intend to use the language lab system DiLL, you need a short introduction to get teacher's access. If you do not intend to use DiLL in your course, you do not need this access.

Hybrid teaching in the computer rooms

The computer rooms are are equipped with a dedicated sound and camera system for synchronous hybrid teaching through Zoom. Ceiling-mounted microphones capture the voice of both the teacher and the students in the room, without the need for any participants to wear headsets.

The hybrid teaching equipment in Studio 1 and 2 is intended for use with the dedicated teacher's computer installed in the room. The quick start guide in the room makes setup simple, and Språkstudion's staff is always at the front desk to assist if necessary.

The seminar room Språkparken (E231) is our most flexible room. It has about 30 student seats, depending on how it is set up. There are two sofas, foldable tables, chairs, a three-level stand for about 20 people, and draperies for separating the room into smaller compartments. The room is particularly suitable for interactive excercises, role play and sign language teaching. It has two computers, a computer projector, a TV, an electric piano and two whiteboards.

You can add a limited number of laptops to your booking of Språkparken. Ask at your department or at Språkstudion's front desk for assistance.

Språkparken is equipped with two Logitech MeetUp systems that handle both audio and video. One is mounted on the TV by the sofas, and the other is mounted on a movable tripod. The movable camera can be connected to either the computer in the room or a personal laptop with a USB port. The equipment makes it easy to stream seminars and presentations through Zoom.

The small room Språkbubblan (E279) can be used by students and teachers for group work, supervision or small classes or exams. It has 8 seats and foldable tables. There is one computer, one projector and a whiteboard in the room.

You can add a limited number of laptops to your booking of Språkbubblan. Ask at your department or at Språkstudion's front desk for assistance with this resource.
