The potential risk of cyber attacks across Europe including Sweden, has increased due to current world events. As far as IT Services can tell, there’s no increased threat to universities in particular at the moment, but this can change quickly.

IT Services urges all users to be extra vigilant and suspicious of emails with attachments and links or email from unknown senders. Even if an email looks like it comes from a colleague or manager, it may be fake. Attachments and links are a common way of fishing for passwords or installing malware on your computer. If you receive an email from someone that is different or oddly worded, please call the person who appears to have sent the email and double-check before acting on anything in the email.

Some general safety tips

  • Always be careful about clicking on links in emails or opening attachments
  • Use secure passwords and change them regularly
  • Do not reuse the same password on multiple services/systems

If you receive an email that seems suspicious, you can report it to Helpdesk via Serviceportalen. Save the email so that you can submit it to the Helpdesk if necessary.
