Head of department

As the head of department/equivalent, you have the ultimate responsibility for the department/equivalent, you have the ultimate responsibility for the department/equivalent for the departmemnt/equivalent´s environmental work. This means that you should ensure that your department/equivalent complies with current environmental policies, procedures and guidelines.

In addition, you are responsible for appointing an environmental representative at your department/equivalent and assisting their efforts.

The departrtment/equivalent´s environmental objectives and action plan should be adopted by the departure board/equvalent.

The environmental representative should draw up a proposal for an action plan and environmental objectives. You are responsible for ensuring that the content is consistent with the Universitys´central environmental objectives and action plan.

You should keep yourself informed about the progress of the environmental work at the department/equivalent. The environmental representative will provide you with the relevant information.

In addition, you should ensure that the department/equivalent complies with applicable environmental laws and other environmental requirements for improvement.

If you think that the coordination of the University´s environmenmtal work can be improved, please contact the chair of the Environmental Council, the environmental coordinator, or one of the environmentgal organisers.

Your responsibilities relating to the environmmental work:

  • To ensure that the department/equivalent complies with the University´s environmental policies, procedures and guidelines, as well as applicable environmental laws.
  • To ensure that the department/equivalent´s environmental objectives and action plan are consistent with the University´s central objectives and action plan.
  • To appoint and assist the environmental representative, and to ensure that there are resources available for the environmental work.
