Structure your days

Try to make your workdays at home as similar to your days in the office as possible.

  • Keep clear working hours. Decide when you will work and when you are “off.” Turn off your computer when your workday is done.
  • Take regular breaks, including a real lunchbreak.
  • Keep moving and get fresh air and some sunlight every day. Consider a walk during your lunch break, or take walks at the beginning and end of your workday.

Communication with your supervisor and colleagues

  • Need someone to bounce ideas off of? Take the initiative and call a colleague to talk a little and get unstuck.
  • Think about social contacts, too. Call each other a little more often just to chat. Zoom fika, anyone?
  • Report if you are sick, taking care of sick children, or absent for another reason, according to the usual routines.
  • Report workplace risks to your supervisor! Take the initiative to tell your boss when problems arise.
