As part of the effort to improve communication activities at the University, the Communications Office at Stockholm University has been re-established. While the university carried out a recruitment process to select a new head of communications, two external reviews were completed in order to generate concrete proposals to determine how the University's communications can be developed. The reviewers  highlighted the potential benefits of creating a clear focus on efforts within both research and student communication. Although the number of applicants per place has increased once again, partly due to the Coronavirus crisis, it is important that the university’s student communications activities are conducted in a structured manner and work towards a long-term vision.

There has been tremendous interest in contribution to the review process, which is a promising sign for the implementation of the proposals made in the reviews. It is now up to the scientific areas to identify ways to highlight research that is particularly important to highlight.

Internal communication is the third area covered by the investigations. The proposal here is to focus directly on a number of issues and to link these more clearly to the existing core activity planning process. This will be an important task for our new head of communications, Johan Brandt, as he works with his staff to implement these proposals.
