With eagerness and an open mind, I start my new assignments, grateful for the opportunity to join a team with vast wisdom and experience. I am especially grateful to have already met many of my colleagues “in the flesh”, as I, and several others, will be starting our new assignments digitally.
For the past ten years, I have had the pleasure of working in various management assignments: as head of my department (Department of Economic History and International Relations) and head of department at another faculty, and the last three years as Vice Dean (including through work with education reviews). It was a tremendous learning experience, but above all rewarding and fun, as I had the opportunity to get to know the people who make the University’s complex web of activities function. This work is usually done happily, an important part of a healthy daily work routine!
During this period, I have always been active in both research and teaching, a combination that characterises the spirit of Stockholm University – research and education complement and enrich each other. My research has mainly explored economic/social history, with a focus on commercial sex in the 19th and 20th centuries, and my teaching has been done across several interdisciplinary contexts. I will have less time to dedicate to this in the future, but my ambition is to continue to engage in the University’s core activities as much as possible.
