The easiest way to log in is by searching your name on su.se (your site is most likely the top result) or with the address “su.se/profiles/username universityaccount.” Click the pen icon under the box with your SUKAT information. If you are not already logged into another university service, a pop-up login window will ask for your credentials.

Edit your profile page

The labels for the different categories are only shown if they have content. The profile page is always in both English and Swedish. The link to the second language is under your name and title.

Text field – left side of editing pane

Main text

Here you enter your text in Swedish and/or English. You choose the title/category it goes under by clicking the tabs at the top. The same tab is used for Swedish and English versions.

The title shown under “My profile” is “Om mig” and “About me.”

Some recommendations and tips on your content:
- “About me” complete contact information, and a good description of your current work and professional background.

- “Teaching” brief information on your teaching. For more specific course and materials descriptions, we recommend using Mondo.

- “Research” short description of your research and research projects. We recommend that you put the complete description in the university’s research database and link to it. You can find more information on the database in the FAQ.

Short text for list views

At the bottom is a pane for a shortened version of your main text in both Swedish and English, which is used for certain types of lists.

Add content – right half of editing pane

Content which you put here is visible on both the Swedish and English sites.

Profile image

Here you upload a profile picture (at least 260 pixels wide). The end format is square and you can crop the photo after you upload it. Don’t forget to add an alt-text (accessibility for both people with low vision and search engines).

You can upload more than one picture, but the one on the top will show in your profile page. You can easily change the order by clicking and dragging on the dotted line to the left of the picture.

Publications

If you already have publications in DiVA, you can select them here and show them on your profile site. Click inside the search field and you’ll see a list of publications in DiVA for which you are the writer or editor. The list only shows the publications that were added using your official university account user name.

Choose the publications to show by clicking the green plus sign. You can remove items you’ve already selected by clicking the red cross sign. A link to all of your publications in DiVA is shown at the bottom of the profile page. There is no maximum to the number of articles you can show on your profile. You can adjust the order of the publications shown by clicking and dragging the dotted line to the left of the title.

Links

You can add links to your department, research projects, blog, LinkedIn profile, etc.

You enter the link text (which shows) in the left-hand field and the entire web address in the right field.

Files

You can upload any type of file, maximum 10MB. An icon shows the type of file.

General info on the editing pane

Save your work now and then to view how it looks to others. If you have saved your profile page once, it will auto save. If you get logged out, you will have the option to continue editing with the auto-saved version.

Paste your text by clicking “Paste as Word” or “Paste as plain text.” Otherwise, the formatting of the original document can “follow” to the new place and make editing difficult.

Avoid using tables – it’s bad for accessibility. (It works poorly on mobile platforms and is difficult for those using text readers.)

You can log in to an editing pane with more functionality to do things like change the language settings or find a file you want to remove. Instructions for logging into the expanded-function editing pane

Fine-tuning object placement

You can change the order of pictures and items in lists by clicking and dragging on the two dotted grey lines on the left edge of the object.

You can take away an object by clicking the red cross sign.

You can copy an object and insert it in your text. Instructions for working with the text editor.
