“For more than 20 years I have played floorball with my colleagues – so much fun! Now I have to find other forms of exercise because of the pandemic. I usually do a BodyPump workout that is available online, in my living room. I like to be outdoors a lot too, especially now when there is snow and it’s possible to ski. Besides from that I go for a lot of walks.”
Paul Levin, Director at the The Stockholm University Institute for Turkish Studies
“We live close to nature so when I work from home during the pandemic I usually go out for a run. Now when it’s finally thick with snow on the ground, I like to put on my cross-country skis. I’m actually going to do that right now. The first thing I did last winter was to ski into a little stream in a ditch and break off both ski and pole! But I quickly found a pair of nice old skis on Blocket and now nothing can stop me.”
Karin Tjulin, Press Officer at the Communications Office
“Friskis och svettis has quite a few classes outdoors, I usually try attend one or two every week. When there’s snow on the ground, it can be a bit slippery and it’s not always that pleasant when it’s raining or when your exercise mat blows away, but most of the time it’s really nice to get a workout.”
Gunnar von Heijne, Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics
“Before covid-19 I trained at the staff gym at the University. Now during covid-19 I take walks and jog in the area where I live. Every morning I take a quick walk to get the pulse up before the day's Zoom meetings.”
