Cleaning instructions

All tenants are responsible for final cleaning prior to departure.  This includes your accommodation and all shared facilities such as kitchens (freezer, fridge, cupboards) study rooms and common areas.  Please see detailed instructions for:

Please follow the cleaning instructions carefully and remove all personal items.  It is not permitted to leave personal belongings in your room or in any communal areas for the next tenant (including extra furniture, clothes, electronic devices, bed lines, pillows, quilts, food, hair gel, soap, garbage bags and so on).

Housing inspection and deposit

After your departure, a housing inspection will be done to ensure that the accommodation has been cleaned properly, all personal belongings been removed and nothing in the room has been damaged or needs to be repaired. Extra costs will occur in case of smoking damage (if you have been smoking in your room and/or in the prohibited areas) or other damages to the accommodation.

If your room has not been cleaned according to our instructions, your deposit will not be refunded. The entire deposit is used to cover the cost for the cleaning service, which is a set fee and does not depend on the amount of cleaning necessary. Therefore, the same cost occurs even for one small dirty area.

Please note that it takes time before we can inform you about the result of the inspection. 

Deposits are refunded to the same card that was used to pay the deposit. Should you not have this card anymore, please inform us as soon as possible.

Key return

Please return your keys to Servicecenter, at the latest by 09.00 the day after your contract ending date. Servicecenter is located at Södra Huset, Entrance D, Floor 4 (right next to the Stockholm University Library). Servicecenter is currently open Monday-Thursday between 08:00-16:00 (8 am to 4 pm) and Friday 08:00-15:00 (8 am to 3 pm).

If you are handing in keys on a weekend, Swedish national holiday or after Servicecenter opening hours, keys must be returned in the Security Key Box, located outside the entrance D of Södra Huset. If you return your keys at the Key Box it is important that you have placed your key in an A5 envelope with the address of your accommodation written on it.

It is not permitted to return your keys at any other place than the Housing Office Key Desk or the Security Key Box outside entrance D. If your keys are not returned on time and/or are returned in the wrong location, the locks will be changed and you will be charged the cost for the lock change.
