CIVIS, our European Alliance of 11 universities, is launching a Call for Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) open to academics across the Alliance.
Do you have an idea for a hybrid, international and interdisciplinary project and you're searching for funding opportunities? Or do you already have an educational activity or course and you're keen to adapt it with innovative ways of teaching and an international dimension?
The call for Stockholm University teachers interested in coordinating a blended intensive programme (BIP) together with at least two other CIVIS universities is now open, and the submission deadline is 15 November 2023.
On the CIVIS website you can find a full description and criterias for participating in the call. Note, however, that as a teachers at Stockholm University you must meet a series of criteria also.
Information webinar for interested teachers
In order to support all interested teachers, we are organising an information webinar on 5 October. The webinar will go through what a CIVIS BIP is, what the benefits and possibilities are and what to consider when preparing for an application. Teachers who have who have been asked to participate as co-coordinators or guest teachers may also benefit.
BIPs are a way to put your institution on the map internationally and provides connections that can lead to additional forms of collaborations. For students at Stockholm University, it is an opportunity to gain access to an education that the department does not normally provide.
BIP is a part of the new Erasmus program and has as such formalities it must comply with, but also from CIVIS part, e.g. both a virtual and a physical part (five days) and a maximum limit of 6 ECTS has been set. Any course held at Stockholm University will also need to follow the normal procedures and regulations at Stockholm University and as application and admittance is made via CIVIS portal, there are a few aspects that must be kept in mind. Creating and coordinating a BIP will become a matter that engages the whole department, even if the teacher is the central figure.
