I want to take a break from a course, how do I proceed?

You can take a break from courses in Ladok. There are two types of breaks: "Early break" and "Break":
If you take a break before three weeks have passed on a course, it will be an early break. If you want to take the course another semester, you must apply for the course/course package again and be accepted to be able to re-register for that course for the first time. It is not possible to re-register.
However, if you do not take a break at all or take a break after three weeks of attending the course, you cannot be registered for the first time again (even if you apply and are admitted to the course/course package) but you can be re-registered as long as the course remains.

I have not passed a course – how do I finish?

In order to be re-registered for a course you have previously been registered for but have not yet passed, contact the course coordinator for the semester in which you want to complete the course, and enter your social security number. As a re-registered person, you can register for the exam in Fastreg (no later than five working days before the exam), and you can attend lectures. At the start of the course, you can contact the course coordinator to see if you could get a place in a seminar group. Also, contact the course coordinator if you are unsure of whether the course content is the same as when you first registered for the course or if you have other questions about the course.

Why can't I register for re-examination?

You must re-register for the course the semester you want to take the exam. This is done in Athena or through your course coordinator. This may also be the case when you have registered for an exam five times. If that is the case, contact the study counsellor.

Who do I speak to if the grade is not reported to Ladok?

How do I credit courses I have previously taken at other universities?

When you have completed all the courses that you are to include in the degree, you apply for a degree in the university account, where you can also check for completed courses from other universities / colleges you have studied in Sweden to get them in the degree. Courses in the main area must be credited for those who have not studied courses in the main area of business administration or advertising and public relations, before the autumn semester 2016, at Stockholm University. The rule is that you get a degree from the university or college where you take the last course that is to be included in the degree, last grade date (also applies to re-examinations).
