    Happy Ascension Day!

    The Department will be closed on 21 May, due to Ascension Day, a Public Holiday. This means that the student offices' and the student counsellors' telephone hours are cancelled. Their visiting hours continue to be cancelled and the Department will continue being locked out due to the situation with the coronavirus pandemic.

    About us and what we do

    At the Department of Swedish Language and Multilingualism at Stockholm University we are approxinmately 160 staff members doing research on and teaching in the subjects Swedish, Scandinavian languages, Swedish as a second language, Swedish as a Foreign Language, Interpreting and Translation Studies, Bilingualism and second language acquisition for about 3,500 students every year. We offer Bachelor's programmes and Master's programmes, and approximately 70 courses each semester.

    Distance learning and the Department is locked for the time being

    Classes are carried out by distance learning since 18 March, 2020, and the Department of Swedish Language and Multilingalism is locked for the time being, due to the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic.
