An important part of the work by researchers at SOFI is the collection of different kinds of data. Some of Sweden's most valuable data sets have been created at our institute. A specific policy at SOFI is to make information available to the research community within a reasonable length of time after its collection. The data sets are archived in due course with the Swedish National Data Service (SND). Link to SND

The Social Citizenship Indicator Program (SCIP)
is a database that includes comparable quantitative indicators on rights and duties accorded citizens in five major social insurance programs in 18 OECD countries on 15 different occasions from 1930 to 2005. Information has been collected for different types of households and earnings levels concerning replacement rates (gross and net) for lost earnings, conditions for and duration of benefits, and methods of financing. The database covers information on circa 250 thousand data points. Link to SCIP
The Stockholm Birth Cohort Study (SBC)
was created in 2004/2005 by a probability matching of two comprehensive and longitudinal datasets. The first, the Stockholm Metropolitan study 1953–1985, consists of all children born in 1953 and living in the Stockholm metropolitan area in 1963. The second, The Swedish Work and Mortality Database 1980–2002 (WMD), consists of all individuals living in Sweden in 1980 or 1990, and born before 1985. The database in effect provides a 50 year long follow-up of the original 1953 birth cohort and is administrated and developed by researchers at SOFI and the Center for Health Equity Studies (CHESS).
