Collaboration

Researchers at SOFI contribute to Stockholm University's so-called "third task", to collaborate with the surrounding society, in many different ways. On this page, we list some of our collaborative projects and describe the work of reaching out with our research.

SOFI's researchers contribute to Stockholm University's so-called "third task", i.e. to collaborate with the surrounding society, in many different ways. The institute's researchers participate in public investigations, for example the Social Insurance Inquiry (Socialförsäkringsutredningen), and provide expert assistance, for example to the Social Report.

The researchers at SOFI also provide regular information about their research in books and journals, for example in Ekonomisk Debatt (Economic Debate), Arbete och samhälle (Work and Society), Lag & avtal (Law & Agreement), and also as debate pieces in newspapers DN Debatt, SvD Debatt and as experts in the media. Collaboration projects

Researchers from SOFI participate in various international collaborative projects. For example, professor Tomas Korpi is a member of the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschungs (WZB) scientific council and in the Scientific Council of the Institute for The Institute for Evaluation of Labour Market and Education Policy (IFAU). Professor Kenneth Nelson is a member of the steering committee for the EU project Inclusive Growth Research Infrastructure Diffusion ( InGRID ), professor emeritus Eskil Wadensjö is a board member of ENRSP (European Network for Research on Supplementary Pensions) and professor Michael Tåhlin is members of the council for insight for the newly established Swedish Agency for Work Environment Knowledge (MYNAK).

Assignments and boards

The institute's researchers also participate as experts and specialists on boards, councils, committees and working groups, etc. Examples of contexts in which researchers at SOFI participate or have participated are evaluation committees at Forte (Swedish Research Council for Health, Working life and Welfare), RJ (The jubilee fund of the Swedish central bank Riksbanken) and VR (Swedish Research Council), boards of ALI, CAN, CHESS, DISC , FAS, IFAU, SORAD and SNS, the Regional Ethics Review Board (Regionala etikprövningsnämnden – EPN) in Stockholm, and chairmanship of various program councils at Statistics Sweden (Statistics Sweden

Network

SOFI is a member of organizations such as The Network for European Social Policy Analysis (ESPAnet) and European Consortium for Sociological Research (ECSR) and RC19 and RC28 within the International Sociological Association (ISA).

Research collaborations

Swedish  Institute for Social Research and its researchers collaborate with universities, research institutes, networks and decision-making bodies, both interdisciplinary and internationally.
