We would like to invite you to our new monthly Donuts with Doctoral Students. These sessions are organised by PhD students from the equality committee of the SU Department of Zoology and are designed to allow bachelor’s and master’s students the opportunity to interact with PhD students outside of class. Our aim is to provide an informal setting for students to get information on life in academia and the available projects and internships within the Department of Zoology.
Each session will be run by a PhD student and will have a discussion theme centred around helping students navigate their scientific careers. There will also be a short presentation on the PhD student’s research, with suggestions of potential master’s projects and internships that might be available around the topic. Finally, and most importantly, there will be opportunities throughout each session for you to ask questions to the PhD student presenting.
Currently, we are running the sessions online via Zoom. Due to the ongoing pandemic, donuts are not included.
