Hussein Khalil is a researcher at the Institute of Integrative Biology, University of Liverpool, and former master student at Zootis, who did his PhD at SLU in Umeå on the vole-born Hanta virus. While visiting Sweden he will give a talk on his current work in a research project led by Michael Begon based in Salvador City in Brazil. The group implement an interdisciplinary program targeting Leptospirosis and other zoonotic and vector-borne diseases. They use epidemiological, ecological, and social science approaches to understand the complex socioeconomic and environmental drivers of infection risk. The goal is to develop a mathematical model to recommend the most cost-effective interventions to mitigate risk.

The talk will be in D502 at 11:00.

Welcome!
