Here you can find information about our courses and admission requirements for the different levels. Information about how to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Korean, our Master’s programme and research programmes and all other freestanding courses can be found below. Please note that most first cycle courses are taught in Swedish and requires a documented knowledge of Swedish.

First cycle studies (Bachelor´s degree)

The education on first cycle studies is taught mainly in Swedish. For more information, please see the Swedish version of the website.

We also offer some courses in English on the first cycle.

Second cycle studies (Master´s degree)

All education on second cycle studies is taught in English. The Master's program in Asian Studies, 120 hp is an interdisciplinary program that provides in-depth knowledge of the Asian languages and cultures, with its main focus on Korea, Japan and China. The program also provides in-depth training in one of the major East Asian languages, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

Third cycle studies (PhD level)

On third cycle studies, the Department offers Doctoral studies in Asian Languages and Cultures and Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures. There are usually about two positions in each field of study (Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Arabic).
